I was absent on this day, so I will try to jot down as many notes as I am capable of :-)
It seems to be that this person is an ESL student by he way she was talking. Not only was I able to tell because she stated that she was an ESL student, but by the way she was talking/explaining. It was hard for me to understand because of the way L would explain things. She told many stories about her experiences as an ESL student, testing, and passing. She thought that she failed the test because she was moved into a different class with different students and a different teacher, but she was actually moved into a different class because she passed the test. She said that her other friends did not pass the test and that one of her friends who was Colombian failed the test and was in ESL until 4th grade.
- I noticed that sometimes there were emotions in parentheses after L spoke.
- I saw that L used the phrase 'you know' many times which represents hesitation to tell the story which might indicate more fear
- She says 'like' when she is talking about one of her stories, I noticed that when she is nervous or shows fear, she says like
- There were many pronouns in this interview that L said
- She told about 6 or 7 stories
- She seems to talk about her friends a lot, which might indicate that she wants and needs her friends around her
